Emily's Library Staff Pick:

       The Passage:  A Novel

The Passage by Justin Cronin is a gripping story about catastrophe and survival.  Named one of the ten best novels of the year by Time and Library Journal, this novel tells the tale of Amy, a young girl who holds the key to saving the world.  This is a wonderful mashup of literary and supernatural elements, creating the perfect novel that encompasses devastation yet hope, endurance, and adventure.

25 Years At The Library
Congratulations Dianne Mustas
Dianne Mustas
Dianne is our longest serving staff member, beginning in November of 1988, when the cramped Delafield Public Library was located above the police department on Genesee Street and had no computers, DVDs, or CDs. They did, however, have phonograph records, and had to hand stamp every check out card in the back of the books. In all, Dianne has worked under five different library directors.  "I witnessed the death of the card catalog," she said.  While the time seemed to go by quickly, Dianne admits she now sees former story timers bringing their own children to story time.
Congratulations Dianne, and thanks for 25 years!
