Greetings!
It is hard to imagine that it is almost the middle of October!  And even harder to imagine that some markets will be closing at the end of the month.  We have updated the Farmers Market Schedule in the left menu to remind you which markets will remain open into November.  There are also two ways that you can continue enjoying Kuhn Orchards produce on through the winter.  Read below for more details.

For those of you who are not willing to admit it is Fall, we still have some summer treats available at market:  Raspberries, Strawberries, Heirloom Tomatoes, and French Filet Beans.  Its not too late to make spaghetti sauce or Joe Yonan's (Washington Post Food & Travel Editor, and 14th & U customer!) 12 Hour Tomatoes.  We will have 13 varieties of apples at market; we are adding Braeburn to the mix this weekend.  Plus we're digging Sunchokes!

We'll see you at market!
Stock Up...Order a Box of Apples!!

With markets soon coming to an end,
you want to get your fill of apples!  We will happily take your order for boxes of apples; we'll have them packed up and ready to grab-n-go when you get to market.  You can place an order by calling us (717.334.2722) or reply to this email.

CSA Not sure you want an entire box of apples?  Consider signing up for our Winter CSA; we make bi-weekly deliveries in Vienna, VA, Lorton, VA, and Washington, D.C.  You can reap the harvest through April enjoying apples, winter veggies, jarred goods, cider and more!

apples Or if you don't want the commitment of the CSA, sign up to receive the Monthly Apple Delivery newsletter.  The Monthly Apple Delivery newsletter notifies you that we will be in your area and you can place an order for a box of apples, cider, or other jarred goods.  To sign up for the Monthly Apple Delivery newsletter, simply click the "Join our Mailing List" button in the left hand menu.
Reminder....no Fairfax Community Market on Saturday 10/13
Just a reminder to our Fairfax Community Market Customers that the Farmers Market is closed this weekend because the Fall Festival is taking place.

Please shop with us at the Vienna Farmers Market on Church Street beside the Red Caboose from 8am until noon.
Early Bird Berries & Late Bloomer Pumpkins
strawberries It definitely pays to shop
raspberries
early, but it also pays to shop late this time of year too!  If you are looking for berries, French Filet Beans, or other specialty veggies, we recommend that you shop
early.  Our Strawberries and Raspberries are flying off the shelves!

However, we are offering our heirloom pumpkins at half price the last hour of the market.  So, if you are an early shopper, swing by at the end of market to pick up your fall pumpkins.  We have tons of varieties, such as:
Speckled Hound
Blue or Golden Hubbard
Triamble (aka Shamrock)
Pink or Blue Banana
Turk's Turban
Knucklehead or Goosebumps
And many more!!
All are decorative; many are edible - perfect to puree for a cozy soup or delectable pie!
