Boost your students' research skills with IWonder Genius Hour
IWonder (iwonder.infohio.org) is INFOhio's home for educational and engaging websites students can explore. These websites, handpicked by school librarians, support Ohio's Learning Standards in grades 3-9.
And new this month, you'll find the IWonder Genius Hour activity. In the Genius Hour, students explore a topic of their own choosing, first using IWonder and then progressing to ISearch and GO! Not only do they strengthen their research skills, but they also expand their digital creativity by sharing what they learn with classmates.
The IWonder Genius Hour support documents include a student worksheet and a comprehensive Teacher's Guide that lists standards covered, lesson planning ideas, time needed to complete tasks, and suggested assessment rubrics. There is even a completed sample worksheet to give your students an idea of the information needed.
