Curriculum Toolboxes: Manage the Instructional Shifts with One Neat Package

Present

Text complexity, marshalling arguments, close reading. We all know that these are skills we need to teach to help students meet Ohio's New Learning Standards and excel on the PARCC assessments.

Ideas for how to teach those skills and where to find tools to help are harder to come by.

But just in time for the holidays, we have packaged sets of free tools to help teach those skills and many others. Curriculum Toolboxes include both INFOhio premium digital resources as well as reliable websites.

"We're using the online curation tool Scoop.it to put the Toolboxes together," said Cathie Cooper, INFOhio eLearning Specialist. "Scoop.it lets us easily add new resources as we find them, so we can keep the tools fresh and up to date."

She said that the Scoop.it sites are just the first layer in the Curriculum Toolbox. "We're looking now into adding more links to specific standards and to INFOhio's IMatrix," she said. "We want to help teachers find all they need in one place.

Here are just a few examples of the kinds of resources you'll find on our Curriculum Toolbox page:
