You need to teach research skills and help students gain expertise searching academic research databases, but the kids just have winter break on their minds. Combine the two with these holiday-themed explorations of INFOhio digital resources:
 
Kids Search--Many religions celebrate this time of year, and lights are important symbols in all. Learn more in Holiday Lights, which helps elementary students compare and contrast celebrations. And while you're there, check out the Winter Holidays Spotlight Topic at the bottom of the the home page. 
 
Biography Reference Bank--Kwanzaa celebrations started less than 50 years ago, but are being celebrated by more and more people every year. Learn about The Man Who Invented Kwanzaa in this 1998 article from Ebony magazine available through Biography Reference Bank. Or just open BRB
