Racing will begin with the Louis Vuitton America's Cup Qualifiers on May 26th, with the series winner facing off against the defending champions "ORACLE TEAM USA" in the 35th America's Cup Match presented by Louis Vuitton beginning on June 17th.

Over the winter some astounding progress has been made:
How about almost completing the whole while foiling?  Tacking & Jibing on foils?  Leg powered winches?   Amazing stuff... HERE

Manresa Island Power Plant Update

The Manresa Association meeting on February 28th featured a background presentation by the firm of Fitzgerald & Halliday, the company who is preparing the formal Economic Impact Analysis.

It's a very interesting review of the history of Manresa and a recap of the key issues for the forthcoming Analysis.

Throughout the nine months it will take to complete the Economic Impact Analysis, F&H will hold a series of public meetings to seek input and provide updates. F&H does a good job of making the information accessible and is wide open to hearing from all who are interested in the project.

Is Your Safety Kit Ready for Spring

Now is the time to start making lists!  One important list to make is the review of your safety gear:

Are your flares up to date?  Have the correct types and number?   If you've never shot off a flare and think it would be a good skill to master, see the "Flare Up" event in the boating courses link... HERE    Have you seen the new battery powered electronic flares that replace the old car style flares?

Have you inspected your life jackets recently ? Are they readily available, in good shape, appropriately sized to the crew and Coast Guard approved?

Do you have wooden plugs for your through hulls?

Is your radio working, DSC programmed with your unique MMSI # so you can be easily rescued?  Is your GPS Connected?

Is your first aid kit good to go?

Fire extinguisher(s) still in the green?

If your boat is over 16 feet you MUST have a throwable cushion or ring. Do you? Is it in good shape? Is it a bright color so it can be seen?

Just asking....
On a Final Note,
