Urge President Trump:
Reform the Ethanol Mandate!

The EPA has announced its plans to further increase the country's ethanol mandates, surpassing the current record high levels finalized less than one year ago.  Despite overwhelming evidence, they unilaterally decided to increase the country's mandated ethanol amounts requiring the American public to consume 1.2 billion more gallons of renewable fuel.
It's very likely the EPA's decision will lead to more E15 being sold to unassuming consumers across the country-increasing the likelihood of a boater buying it accidentally!

Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival

After a year's hiatus, the 2017 Clearwater Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 17th and 18th 2017 at Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson, NY.

Inspired by Pete Seeger's desire to clean up the river over forty years ago, Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival initially helped raise the funds to build the sloop Clearwater, which has since become a world-renowned floating classroom and a symbol of effective grassroots action.

Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival (aka "the Clearwater Festival" or "Revival") features seven sustainably powered stages with diverse music, dance, storytelling and family-oriented programming as well as a juried Handcrafters' Village, the Green Living Expo, the Working Waterfront with small boat exhibits and rides, the Artisanal Food & Farm Market, environmental education displays and exhibits, and the Circle of Song where audience participation is the focus.

It's a great festival, Get your tickets... HERE

Upgrade Your Rigging this Winter at Norwalk Cove

Need to replace your rigging, reefing lines or halyards? Maybe your lifelines?

Vinyl covered lifelines can hide problems that are hidden until the wire fails (at exactly the wrong moment). The exposed ends of the vinyl can allow water to be trapped underneath, causing crevice corrosion of the stainless steel wire. If you have seen brown stains near the ends of your lifelines, the clock is ticking!

Call the Norwalk Cove Service Department to discuss with the Rigging Shop.  Call (203) 838-3681
or e-mail  [email protected]

CTDOT and Norwalk Officials Held a Public Information Meeting on the Walk Bridge Structure Type Alternatives on Dec. 5th

After a very informative and highly technical presentation, it was announced that after comparing the three Movable Bridge Alternatives, the 240' wide  Vertical Lift Span Bridge (Option 11C) was identified as the preferred alternative based on the comparison of success factors identified as they relate to the Project's Purpose and Need Statement.
The 240 foot wide Option (Option 11C) is the only alternative with foundations proposed outside of the existing swing span limits, which will allow the existing bridge to remain operational longer during construction and requiring a shorter rail track outage.

Key Dimensions:
Structure Height: 105 ft (closed) & 140 ft (open)
Vertical Clearance: 27 ft (closed) & 60 ft (open)
Horizontal Clearance: 200 ft
Anticipated Cost:  $425 - $460 million

Construction of the Walk Bridge is expected to occur over
approximately four years in multiple stages to best accommodate railroad, marine, and local traffic. Construction staging is currently conceptual and will be refined as the design progresses.
