Norwalk Fire Boat Fights a Fire on Grassy Island
Last Monday, Norwalk Fire - Marine Engine Co., Engine # 3 (the fire boat company) fought a brush fire on Grassy Island. Grassy is one of the Norwalk owned islands and is open to the public.
The recent "Red Flag" high fire risk weather may be to blame, but note that cooking & bonfires are only allowed on the beach,well away from the tree line to prevent this sort of fire. The islands are also "carry in - carry out" with no trash receptacles available. See the Norwalk Fire - Marine Company, Engine 3 Facebook page:

For the first time, NOAA will tell you how accurate it's charts are with it's new ZOC (Zone of Confidence) grid.
It's been introduced on four updated charts that were released on April 7th... 18622, 18682, 18754, and 11328.
