A New Way to View the Weather: WindyTY
New Apps and web pages pop up so frequently it's hard to keep up with them! Here's a webpage (and android app) that will give you a whole new appreciation for the weather... on a global scale! Careful, it's mesmerizing! You could spend hours playing with this one! 
Developed by a kite surfer in the Czech Republic using open source code from "the Earth Project", the program is essentially a map with overlays you can choose with weather conditions such as humidity, temperature, wave & sea data,rain and air pressure.. The map is minimalistic, with no cities or roads, but with a click on the map you get a detailed local forecast for a given spot. Have fun with this one! See it.... HERE

The Norwalk Islands.... Their Formation, History, Secrets, Stories and Navigation Tips around and between the 25 plus Islands.
From the ice age and the formation of  Long Island Sound by the retreating glaciers, the Indians and early settlers, to the Oyster Industry, Hotels, Bordellos and Prohibition Speakeasy's. The Norwalk Islands have always played an integral part in the development of Norwalk and the region. Public Islands, Private Sanctuaries, Posh Retreats.... all right off the Norwalk shoreline.

USCG Capt Course Returns to Rex Marine Starting Mon. March 14!
The USCG Captain's Exam "Express" course is designed for busy executives/experienced boaters who want to learn the critical components of the OUPV ("six pack") and Master's license exams in the shortest possible time.
3 weeks - Mon & Thurs nights 7-9:30 pm
 The $395 tuition includes text book, plotting tools and chart, and all USCG Forms.
