Norwalk Boat Show Update
The show kicked off on Thursday with great wea ther and a steady stream of visitors to see the 150 boats in the water and almost 250 on land. Rain on Saturday night and the chance of rain on Sunday may have scared some folks off, but an estimated 12,000 to 14,000 visitors attended, according to show management.
There seemed to be more "SOLD" signs on boats this year (including the "queen of the show" Ferretti) and attendees seemed to include fewer tire kickers than the last few years.
Now we look forward to Fall boating with a beautiful weekend forecast for the weekend!

Fall Boating Tips 
Have you checked your running lights ?
Do you have a person-overboard procedure and hardware? (throwable cushion or inflatable module with a strobe light).
The water is getting colder - dress in layers with a wind breaker on top. Remember it's 10 to 15 degrees colder on the water. Bring hats and gloves.
 Make up a Float Plan and share it with someone you trust.
Check the weather. Use the links included on the left margin to see the current weather in Norwalk from the weather station atop the Cove Administration building and the links for Intellicast forecast and current radar.
Wear a life jacket. Even if you don't in the Summer.

New England's Best Chowder & Soup Competition will be held in Calf Pasture Park ! (across the street from Cove)
 Chowdafest is a culinary competition pitting award winning chefs & restaurants against each other where YOU are the judge! When you arrive, you get a pencil, ballot and spoon. Then slurp down 36 decadent samples of chowder, soup and bisque! It's up to you to determine who has the best!
