Boating at Night - Running Lights
This diagram and the video links below will give you a basic view of what running lights are required for different boats. Just be aware it gets more complicated when you add tugboats, barges and other commercial vessels into the mix.
See Page 4 of the CT State Boaters Guide..... HERE
The Coast Guard RulesNote that sailboats under power are required to display the forward white "steaming light" even if their sails are up.

Double Park.... Please!
OK, when do you ever hear that request? With the parking at Rex very tight on a busy weekend, we are encouraging family members or guests to double park their cars to maximize the available space. It also shortens the walk to the docks! See the picture and please, Double Park!
With that said, we must also request that you not block in someone you don't know!

It's Sunscreen Time!
It's also time to start doing some homework on what you are putting on your skin.
What started as a quick reminder to "lather up" forced an evaluation of what was currently being used, how effective was it, and finally, were the ingredients safe? Boy, what a surprise to find that the most prevalent ingredients from a year or so ago now have all sorts of warnings about them!
Do your homework. As boaters, we spend a large portion of time in the sun and need to protect ourselves. Remember, skin damage is cumulative. All those sunburns you got as a kid are going to haunt you as you age, so don't add to it now.
Here are some sites where you can check your existing sunscreen, and research what you SHOULD be wearing.
Meanwhile, wear a wide brimmed hat and a loose fitting light colored shirt.... and stay under the bimini whenever possible!
