Rigging Department at Norwalk Cove 
The Rigging Department at Norwalk
Cove has hit the ground running with with a large selection of running rigging in different colors, rigging wire for masts and lifelines, and hardware for power and sailboat lifelines and rigging. Click HERE for details.

- Rule # 1: Approach the dock at the speed you are willing to hit it!
- Rig your docking lines and fenders BEFORE you get to the dock. (under the railings or lifelines)
- Practice, Practice, Practice.... learn how your boat handles - without wind and with both wind and current.
- Bring the amidships springline off the boat first, and remember that a wrap on the cleat can stop the boat - you pulling on the line cannot.
- Helmsman, really watch your crew and apply power in very small bursts.
- Practice, Practice, Practice.... (did we say that?)
- No laughing when your neighbor "blows it" - it will be your turn next time. Do offer a helping hand.

Sea Scout Ship 6 is a co-ed program for teenagers 14 and up. Prior sailing experience is not necessary or required  and beginners are welcome! The program goal is to develop able sailors capable of handling the boat and crew as if it were their own. Individual development and team work sail side by side in Ship 6. With an active program, sailing from April to November each year, Ship 6 exposes the crew to the broad spectrum of the boating environment and teaches the skills necessary to not merely survive in this environment but to thrive and excel in it!
