Hurricane Season June 1'st through Nov. 1'st
The 2012 Hurricane Season Prediction sources are all forecasting below normal hurricane activity for this season:
10 Named Storms with top winds of 39 mph or higher
(avg. is 12 named storms per year)
4 Hurricanes with top winds 74 mph or higher
(avg. is 6.5 hurricanes per year)
2 Major Hurricanes of Cat 3, 4 or 5 with winds of at least 111 mph
(avg. is 2 major hurricanes per year)
Note: Of storm names A-Z for 2012 we are already up to "L" !
Live Storm Tracking. NOAA's National Hurricane Center website is updated every 4 hours for live storm tracking when storms are active.
