Marine Safety Tip:

There are no State or Federal regulations governing common sense.

If there are not enough life jackets for all passengers, or the boat seems overloaded...

don't climb aboard.

 Just when you

thought it was safe....

A Great White Shark

measuring approximately

16 feet long was spotted off

of Chatham MA

chasing some seals....

Greetings!

Welome to this week's edition of Harbor Talk Weekly, bringing you updates, ideas and goings on around Norwalk.

Great Fireworks !

With local fireworks on both the  3rd and 4th we had quite a show !

The Westport and Norwalk fireworks entertained hundreds

of boats and thousands on shore on the 3'rd (Did you see

the fireworks that spelled out "USA" over Westport ?)  and the ever popular Rowayton fireworks were great on the 4th.

After the Norwalk fireworks ended, two competing houses in the inner harbor had a fireworks show that was amazing, complete with live music.  This gave Rex customers an extra treat as they headed back to the docks.

Later in the evening revelers on the Island Belle waded ashore when the full moon tide flooded the ramp to the parking lot! Soon after, the fireworks barge quietly made it's way to a SONO dock, leaving behind the smell of gunpowder in the midnight air.

Schooner Visits Norwalk Cove:

The A. J. Meerwald, an 85 foot Delaware

Bay oyster schooner and New Jersey's official tall ship, visited Norwalk Cove yesterday. Launched in 1928, the A. J. Meerwald was one of hundreds of schooners built along South Jersey's Delaware Bayshore before the decline

of the shipbuilding industry that

coincided with the Great Depression.

Now, as a sailing classroom and goodwill ambassador, the center piece of the Bivalve NJ discovery and education center has welcomed thousands aboard.
