Saint Patrick's Weekly Reminders
June 4, 2015
|
Please join us this Sunday for worship at 8:30 or 10:30 am. Children's Chapel is suspended during the summer months, but children are invited to join their leaders during the first half of the 10:30 am service for structured and fun activities.
Sabbath helps us to revive and come alive again. Think of this week's spiritual practice as wasting time with God. Use this week's quote to think about how much God wants you to be fully alive. Listen to the meditative music during a time of rest. Place a copy of the Sabbath prayer in a place in your house where you would like to spend time sitting. Make sure to list several restful activities on your calendar. You can still sign up for a weekly email by clicking here.
Outreach Information Forum - Plan to join us this Sunday, June 7th following the 10:30 a.m. service as the Vestry will hold an Outreach Informational Forum on Serenity House. Serenity House is an end-of-life care ministry of the Carolina Comfort Coalition. Serenity House is looking for volunteers and health care professionals to provide loving and supportive round-the-clock care, while at the same time meeting the emotional, spiritual and comfort needs of the residents and their families. New volunteers will be trained and paired with seasoned volunteers. Please plan to attend the forum and learn more about this compassionate ministry.
Stephen Bennett will perform at Saint Patrick's on Sunday, June 21st at 7:00 pm. Stephen is an extraordinary musician, an acknowledged master of the harp guitar, a gifted composer and a performer of astounding sensitivity. Often called "the Jedi Master of Fingerstyle Guitar", his music has won awards and critical praise. Stephen will also be hosting the 13th annual Harp Guitar Gathering at Saint Patrick's in October. Both events are not to be missed. The concert includes a wine and cheese reception, so if you are planning to attend, please bring a finger food to share. Tickets at the door: $15 adults and $10 students/seniors. For more details, click here.
Our next scheduled day to serve as Prep Chefs at the Mooresville Soup Kitchen is on Tuesday, June 9th from 1 to 4 pm. Currently we still have many slots to fill. We are in need of 6 to 10 volunteers, 16 years of age and older who can commit to helping to prepare the frozen meals for those in need. You can sign up to help by clicking
