Adult Bible Study to be offered on Sunday Mornings. The Bible passages we read each Sunday, found in the Lectionary, are used not only by the Episcopal Church and Anglican Communion, but by many major Christian denominations worldwide. Imagine the power and prayer generated by millions of Christians reflecting on the same passages throughout the week. Beginning Sunday, September 14th, anyone interested is invited to join us weekly in the EFM/Youth Room from 9:30am-10:15am. Each week is a self-contained discussion, so drop in and out of the weekly offering as your schedule and heart suggests. If desired, the Lectionary readings can be viewed in advance on numerous websites, including lectionarypage.org. Weekly conversations will be facilitated by seminary trained laity and/or clergy. Come join us for the "The Fellowship of the Word."
Please join us after the 10.30 AM Service on Sunday, September 14th for a presentation and discussion of our new Saint Patrick's Vision and Mission. Your Vestry has been working over the past few months to prepare these as a focus of what we stand for and what we seek to achieve over the next three years, by inspiring connections, embracing diversity and sharing our faith experiences. The session will be 45 minutes long and will begin immediately following the Service.
You've been to church and been fed spiritually through prayer and Eucharist and you've been fed intellectually through the sermon and your own reflections. But then your body gets thirsty! Starting on September 14th, you are invited to come out to the gathering hallway after the service for coffee, or lemonade. The coffee hour will take place immediately after the 10:30 a.m. service in conjunction with the Vestry Forum.

As human beings, we are essentially comprised of body, mind and spirit. These three aspects of our humanity are interwoven and mutually support one another. Thus, as persons concerned about our spiritual journey into wholeness, we must be necessarily concerned with nurturing all three aspects of our being. To this end, and considering our worship and spiritual formation opportunities already nurture mind and spirit, we will be offering a Wellness Eucharist at the 10:30 am service on Sunday, September 21st. Following an abbreviated Eucharistic liturgy, the community will be invited to participate together in numerous fitness activities. Activities will be offered for all ages and abilities. Walking groups, jogging groups, biking groups, gentle yoga, 'Silver Sneakers' seated exercise and various outdoor games will be offered. Please mark your calendars for this fun and significant liturgical opportunity! All are welcome!
The September meeting of the ECW will be held on Monday, September 8th beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the LIbrary. If you have questions, or transportation issues, please contact Judy Willingham (704) 799-9734.
The New Testament lesson a few Sundays ago spoke of us having "gifts." Could one of yours be serving as an acolyte? Have you thought about it? Have you tried it? Would you be interested? Anyone over 8 years old is welcome to serve. We are in the throws of developing an acolyte roster and schedules. We don't have as many folks signed up to serve as acolytes as we would like. Training will be provided for anyone who might be interested in discovering if serving as an acolyte might be one of their "gifts." Serving as an acolyte is a great way to learn about worship. It can also enhance your worship. Please contact the church office or Bob Millikin if you would like more information or to sign up to serve.
Did you know that every day someone at Saint Patrick's prays for you by name? This happens through the Prayer Partner Ministry of the Daughters of the King. Each volunteer prays for approximately six families, mentioning each man, woman, and child in the family by name. There is no fixed time or specific prayer, just raise them up into the light of Christ each day in your own words and at your convenience. As an added blessing, our Rector Mark Forbes will be praying for you. Please search your heart to make a commitment to be a Pray-er for one year. On Sunday, September 21 we will have a sign up sheet at church. Shortly after sign ups, you will receive your list of families. If you have questions, or wish to sign up early, please contact Pam Ferdinands, or (704) 230-4788, Hazel McCrone, or (704) 662-9084, or Judy Simmons, or (704) 528-9878.

A new life group is being formed, The Sojourners, that will focus on fellowship and the discussion of books or movies that the group chooses. As with all of the groups at St. Patrick's, our goal is to get to know one another on a deeper level so that we might grow together on our journey. The group will meet once a month and will include a social time and a pot luck dinner. Jim and Cathy Hadden are hosting the group and invite people to contact them for more information or to sign-up. The first meeting will take place at their home on Saturday at 6:00 on September 20th. This meeting will be an organizational one along with dinner. To sign up, please click here
