  Saint Patrick's Weekly Reminders
May 1, 2014

Please join us for worship this Sunday at 8:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. Children's Chapel is in session for children in preschool through grade 5.

The Youth will meet this Sunday, May 5th from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The meeting is open to all youth in grades 6th through 12th and their friends. Family Eucharist begins at 5;30 p.m. All are invited to attend the Eucharist.

There will be a meeting of the ECW this coming Monday, May 5th beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Church Library. The meeting is open to all women of the church. If you have questions, or transportation needs, please contact Ann Farr (704) 360-2216.

The next four week Yoga session begins Tuesday May 6  in the sanctuary. PLEASE NOTE the time has been changed to 10:00 AM. Bring a yoga mat, small towel, and fee of $32 for the four weeks. If you are coming for the first time, please fill out and bring the release and waiver of liability form that is available in the office or on the website.

In 2013, the Vestry decided to provide the congregation with Sunday Attendance Metrics on a quarterly basis. The average Sunday Attendance (ASA) for the first quarter of 2014 was 185. These ASA metrics include the numbers for 8:30 a.m. Rite II service, 10:30 a.m. Rite II service (with music), and also the Sunday evening Alternative Eucharists. Easter Sunday attendance was 317.

Our next scheduled day to serve as Prep Chefs at the Mooresville Soup Kitchen is on Tuesday, May 13th from 1 to 4 pm. Currently we have many slots we need to fill. We are in need of 6 to 10 volunteers, 16 years of age and older who can commit to helping to prepare the frozen meals for those in need. You can sign up to help by clicking here

We are in need of folks who would be interested in serving as plate counters on Sunday mornings. The commitment would be once every 6 or 7 weeks. You would need to be able to stay after church on your assigned Sunday, and together with our Financial Administrator Julie Lynch count all of the Sunday plate collections and help in preparing a bank deposit. Training will be provided and you will never count alone - always in a team of 2. If you would like to help with this ministry, please contact Pete Barger or

Julie Lynch by clicking on their names.

Our Youth Director, Mark Fowler still has some Auto Bell Car Wash coupons, the sale benefits the 2015 Pilgrimage. Cost is $15.00 which is less than you pay at the car wash (After tax). See Mark at Church or call 704 500-3263 or email by clicking here

Bishop Anne Hodges-Copple will be present on Sunday, June 29th for the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation. If you are interested in either Baptism or Confirmation, please contact the church office. Those wishing to be Confirmed will be required to attend a one day, local retreat. Watch for details in the weeks ahead.

Steve James will be performing at Saint Patrick's on Sunday, May 11, at 7:00 pm.  A musician and storyteller, Steve is a great instrumentalist, a prolific composer, and a dynamic stage presence. His singing conveys both the depth and the humor of his material, and his live shows have a crackling energy that is light years away from many acoustic blues revivalists.  Old-timey yet in the moment, traditional yet innovative, Steve James' guitar playing and songs will take you to places long gone as well as destinations you've never been to.  If you are planning to attend, please bring a finger food to share at the wine and cheese reception.  At the door: $15 for adults, $10 seniors/students.  All proceeds benefit community outreach.  Visit our web site for more details by clicking here
