Desert Day: An Experiential Prayer Retreat. Saturday, March 8, 2014 - 9:00 AM-2:00 PM Led by The Rev. Dr. Sally M. Brower

"The further you go into the desert, the closer you come to God," says an Arabic proverb. This desert day will immerse us in the spiritual wisdom of the desert mothers and fathers, inviting us into a metaphorical and interior desert. The spiritual riches of the desert will be brought alive through poetry and story, visual images and ethereal music suitable for Lent. A variety of rituals and prayer experiences and a closing Eucharist will invite each participant deeper into an encounter with the holy God. Lunch will be provided. Click here to sign up and reserve your spot.

A Lenten Study Opportunity:  "Jesus Was An Episcopalian"

Might you be interested in a weekly group study to help you grow your faith in the season of Lent?  If so, please consider joining a group of committed spiritual journeyers who will be meeting weekly in parishioner homes to share a meal, fellowship and book study.  Beginning March 14, the group will meet on Friday nights at 6:30 pm for five consecutive weeks.  Gatherings will last roughly two hours.  The group will be reading and discussing the book entitled "Jesus Was an Episcopalian."  It is an easy to read yet thoroughly thought provoking survey of the Episcopal faith.  If you would like to participate, please click here, or sign up via the sign up sheet in the Narthex on Sunday morning.

Due to the large interest expressed in the Centering Prayer workshop in Concord on March 1st, we will offer a caravan/carpool from the church. For those who wish to carpool/caravan, please plan to meet at the church at 8:50 a.m. that day. We will depart sharply at 9:00 am. Please contact Beryl in the church office if you plan to carpool with us so that we can be sure we do not leave anyone behind. Thank you.

Did you know that Beryl Frey, our Parish Administrator, just celebrated her fifteenth anniversary as an employee of Saint Patrick's?  Yes, you read that right.  Fifteen years!  An exceptional and devoted employee, Beryl serves as the hub around which all we do revolves.  We celebrate her loyalty, efficiency, reliability and creativity.  We celebrate her compassionate and faithful heart.  In short, we gratefully celebrate the profound gift of her presence these fifteen years.  As Beryl's humble preference is to avoid fanfare, we respectfully limit our public honoring of this special anniversary to this written announcement.  However, when you see Beryl, please join your church leadership in congratulating and thanking her for fifteen years of dedicated service.  May we be gifted with many more!

Did you know that hearing assistance devices are available for those who need them? If you would like to borrow one of these discreet devices to use during worship, please speak with an usher.

Please remember that we are scheduled to serve at Room in the Inn this evening, February 20. We have all the position filled as of this moment. Our next day to serve will be Thursday, March 6th. All slots are currently open. Please sign up online as soon as possible so that we may get all the slots filled promptly. Sign up by clicking here

Our next scheduled day to serve as Prep Chefs at the Mooresville Soup Kitchen is on Tuesday, March 11th from 1 to 4 pm. Currently we have many slots we need to fill. We are in need of 6 to 10 volunteers, 16 years of age and older who can commit to helping to prepare the frozen meals for those in need. You can sign up to help by clicking here
