Christmas is a wonderful time of year when we express and share our generosity with those we love. In the midst of the season's busyness, please also be reminded of our call to be generous to God's church. After all, the Christ Child in the manger rests at the center of all we are and do this time of year. If you have not already done so, please prayerfully consider your pledge commitment to the church. Pledge cards may be placed in the offering plate during worship services, or mailed to the church office. If you have misplaced your pledge card, additional ones may be found on the round table in the church narthex. Thank you to all for your continuing participation in the life of Christ's community at Saint Patrick's.

December 14 marks the one-year anniversary of the tragedy in Newtown, CT. Stephen Bennett, one of our Solas Leighis musicians, is a neighbor to the Newtown community. In response to his feelings, Stephen composed a piece for piano that he named Elegy for Sandy Hook. During the prelude at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday, this haunting tribute will be offered for those who wish to reflect and remember this tragic day.

An important housekeeping note: The thermostats that control the heating and air conditioning in the Sanctuary have been set to 70 degrees. The temperature must remain steady year round so as to protect our piano from costly damage caused by fluctuating temperatures in the worship space. Please do not adjust the thermostats at all. Thank you for your cooperation.
Thanks to some very generous parishioner donations, Saint Patrick's is graced to have new liturgical hangings for our sanctuary this Advent and Christmas. During the season of Advent, our altar, lectern, chasubles and clergy stoles will be a highly refined Anglican blue adorned with our traditional Jerusalem cross. This ancient Anglican color for Advent presents a hue of deep blue akin to that which is experienced just before a morning sunrise, which makes it most appropriate for us in Advent as we await with expectant hope the imminent rising of Christ at Christmas. For our Christmas celebration, we have been gifted celebratory hangings which are beautifully adorned in rich hues and patterns of gold. These new celebratory hangings, which will also be used for Easter, evoke a sense of Christ' s rising in all his splendid glory!
