  Saint Patrick's Weekly Reminders
August 22, 2013

Please join us for worship this Sunday at 8:30 or 10:30 a.m. Children in preschool through grade 5 are invited to join Kristen Forbes and a volunteer during the first half of the 10:30 a.m. service for a lesson and some fellowship (play time).

Saint Patrick's will hold a "Rally Day" Ministry Fair immediately following the service on Sunday, September 8th. The service will be held in the outdoor worship space, along with Rally Day activities for the children. Festivities include a magician, a bounce house, balloon artist and a pot luck picnic! Please click here for a flyer containing all the details.

Ministry Highlights give you an opportunity to become more familiar with the LEAD structure (Leadership Empowerment and Direction). This is also an invitation to become a part of St. Patrick's Ministry Teams. The Acolyte Ministry serves as part of the Altar Party during each service. Click here to find out more about this ministry.

Saint Patrick's Foyer Groups are are forming for the fall. To learn more about Foyer Groups, and to find out how you can be part of the fun and fellowship, please click here

As summer winds down and our many ministries start back up for the fall, it is a good time to remind our ministry leaders that all committee meetings must be scheduled in advanced on the church calendar. We have limited meeting spaces available and we would hate for your group to show up for a meeting and not have the space available. Please contact Beryl Frey in the parish office to schedule your events by clicking here

As you know, Saint Patrick's has committed to serving at the Mooresville Soup Kitchen on the second Tuesday of each month from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Our next date to serve is Tuesday, September 10th. We need about six volunteers to can help prepare frozen home-cooked meals to homebound veterans and others in need in Iredell County. Volunteers must be 16 years old or older, wear closed-toe shoes, and long hair should be tied back. Contact Ginny Stehle (704) 360-4694 or click here to sign up.

On November 9, from 12 PM to 2 PM, Saint Patrick's Church will be hosting a diocesan liturgical celebration and luncheon in honor of all regional military veterans and active troops. Our rector, Mark Forbes, is seeking persons willing to assist in terms of set up, greeting and cleanup. The luncheon will be catered. If you are interested, please inform Beryl Frey in the church office.

On Saturday, September 21st, Father Carl Arico will lead a retreat based on his conversations with Fr. Thomas Keating focused on the transformative process of death and dying as part of, rather than the end of life's journey. The retreat will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Charlotte from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Cost of the retreat is $45. You can access a flyer with all the details by clicking here

Saint John's in Charlotte will host a week-long icon writing workshop from December 2 to December 7. Although the date is still pretty far off, a deposit is required by October 7th. If you are interested in attending please visit Saint John's website by clicking here
