Saint Patrick's to designate July as a Sabbath month. Sabbath practices of all kinds are very important. They provide a biological, psychological and spiritual balance that positions us for deeper and more vibrant living. It has come to my attention that Saint Patrick's used to employ a wonderful practice of taking a "July Sabbath." During the month of July, the church's volunteer ministries took a sabbath from all work that was not directly related to worship. The parish rested for a month. This makes sense to me. Just as we are called to rest one day a week, so too are we called to longer periods of extended rest. I encourage all non-worship related ministries to consider taking up the practice. Flowers for the altar are needed during the month of July, specifically for July 7, 14 and 21. If you would like to provide flowers for any of these dates, please contact Sherry Klepfer (704) 799-9995, or sign up online by clicking here.
A crew of about a half dozen women in our parish spent several hours here this week thoroughly cleaning the church kitchen. When the job was complete, quite a large assortment of plastic ware, serving trays and dishes, wine bottle containers and insulated coffee cups were found. These items will be on display this Sunday, June 23rd so that the containers can be picked up by their rightful owners. If you have left containers at the church please arrange to pick them up on Sunday. Any remaining containers after Sunday will be disposed of. The church simply doesn't have room to store these items. Thank you.

ECW to celebrate birthdays in July! On Monday, July 1st, the ECW will host a celebration of all of the birthdays of all the women of the parish. The celebration will be held at the home of Judy Willingham, 153 Kilborne Road in Mooresville beginning at 11:00 am. No matter when your birthday throughout the year, if you are a woman of Saint Patrick's, you are invited to attend! You are asked to bring a salad with you that day. Cake will be provided. Also, you are asked to bring a penny for every year that you are celebrating. Mark your calendar and plan to attend!
