The basics on biofeedback

In biofeedback therapy, a therapist uses special sensors to measure bodily functions that we are not usually aware of and retrain processes that are not functioning properly. The treatment is used to treat many bowel disorders, including incontinence, constipation, and some symptoms of IBS.

Upcoming fall events to support gastroparesis research

Many DHA fundraisers are hosting events in the upcoming months to increase awareness and raise funds for gastroparesis research. From Washington, to Texas, to Ohio, to Pennsylvania, people are stepping out on behalf of those affected by this condition. Support them as they strive to make a difference for the gastroparesis community.

Funding for NIH discussed by Senate Subcommittee

Before taking their summer recess, the Senate Appropriations Committee discussed several things, including funding for the National Institutes of Health in fiscal year 2015. Funding of NIH impacts medical research, including that of functional GI and motility disorders.

IFFGD, a nonprofit organization, and its grassroots arm, the Digestive Health Alliance (DHA), rely on donor support to fund research and to provide reliable information and support to those affected by functional gastrointestinal and motility disorders.
