Hope on Tour
The Hope Center's brick building at 85 Grand Street  will be among more than a dozen historical Newburgh homes that will be open to the public during  the Annual Candlelight Tour of Homes sponsored by the Historical Society of Newburgh Bay and the Hudson Highlands.
Guests will enjoy the newly renovated parlors with their esquisite tiled fireplaces and fine woodwork, the foyer and sitting room, and the second floor chapel with its stained glass ceiling dating to 1900.

  Greetings!

We begin this Advent season mindful of our call to practice the presence of God in each moment, to be still and know that we are loved by a tender God who is always present for us. And, we begin this Advent thankful for your presence in our lives, for your prayers, and for your compassion and support for Ecclesia's work.
We've got a lot to tell you about. But, in this note, we'll share just four of the high points including big changes at the drop-in center, the successful launch of our twice-weekly Centering Prayer program, Steve's adventures in Columbus, Ohio, and news that the Hope Center will be among the homes featured on a candlelight tour.
Goodbye SafeHaven, Hello Our House
we've moved  After five years in the lower level of Ruth's and Steve's home, it was time to make a move. In Mid-October, SafeHaven, our seven-days-a-week drop-in center, closed its doors for the last time. On November 5th, the center reopened as Our House  ensconced in a lovely space in what had once been the carrage house at 85 Grand Street.   It has also refocused its mission. Centering Prayer opens doors

centering candle  The dream of a spiritual center began to become a reality in August when Amy, Ruth, Larry, and Steve started meeting in Huntington Chapel each morning for a time of sharing and payer. Earlier this month, Larry began hosting our twice-weekly Centering Prayer program that opens doors to all who would enter into their own interior room. Ecclesiacs at the crossroadsecclesia cross

About 30 people from more than a dozen outdoor ministries from across the country gathered in Columbus earlier this month to share their experiences. Rev. Steve was among them. Click here for a brief story and photos of the event including a Sunday street service on a busy corner in Columbus.

By the way - that cross you see to the left is an Ecclesia Cross. We give one out to everyone when they come to one of our Sunday services for the first time. And, so do a lot of our friends across the country. It's a way of connecting and being a part of something much bigger than we are. Maybe you'll stop by some Sunday afternoon at 1:30 and get crossed. You'll find us at 77 Grand Street.

Thank you for being who you are.

Abundant joy!

Steve
