Greetings!
A twice-weekly Centering Prayer program will begin at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, November 8th at the Hope Center, 85 Grand Street, Newburgh.
Larry Malick, a member of our community and experienced Centering and Contemplative prayer teacher, will lead the one-hour sessions.
Centering Prayer is a method of responding to God's invitation to enter into a loving and intimate relationship. The practice prepares us to be open, available, and present to God's action and presence in the innermost recesses of our being. It facilitates a process of inner transformation that is initiated by God and, as we consent, leads us to union with the Divine. Cantering Prayer facilitates both the deepening of our personal relationship with Jesus and release from the attachments that hinder the development of this relationship, through contemplation and the unfolding of the virtues of faith, hope, and love. The fruits of Centering Prayer are naturally and gradually experienced in daily life through an increased ability to cheerfully love and serve God and neighbor.
In addition to the Thursday session which will begin at 6:30 p.m., Larry will also lead a Monday session beginning at 12 Noon.
To learn more about this practice, please join us at any of these sessions, where we will meditate, have some instruction, share our experience on the spiritual journey and support one another in the development of a regular habit of silent prayer. We look forward to seeing you there. (You may also wish to call Larry at (860)593-5566 or drop him a note at Larry@Ecclesia-Newburgh.org.)
We wish you abundant joy! |
