Alzheimer's Workshop
Tuesday, March 25th, from 6:00-7:00 PM

Alzheimer's disease and Dementia are life-changing for both those who are diagnosed and those close to them. Tending to someone with Alzheimer's or Dementia impacts all aspects of daily life for their caregivers. We understand the challenges facing caregivers as they meet their loved one's physical, mental, and emotional needs.

Let us help. Newton Health Care Center and Home Instead have partnered to provide a monthly support group for caregivers, family, and friends of persons with dementia. We know how important it is to meet other caregivers and develop a mutual support system. We offer a safe place to exchange practical information on coping, caregiving problems, and possible solutions.

Here are a few examples of the topics we cover:
Working through challenges and different ways of coping.
Learning about resources available in the Newton community.
Share feelings, needs, and concerns about daily challenges and long term plans.

Join us for our next meeting on Tuesday, March 25th, from 6:00-7:00 PM at Newton Health Care Center. Our address is 200 S. 8th Avenue E. Newton, Iowa. R.S.V.P. to Mariah at (641) 792-7440 or socialservice@newtonhealthcare.com. Refreshments will be provided.

KCOB
Our Chamber radio show airs every Friday morning at 8:40 AM on KCOB 1280 AM.  You can also link to the archives to hear the show anytime!  We'll keep this link on our Chamber E-blasts for your convenience.  A new show will be posted every Friday.  If you are interested in sponsoring the show, contact the radio station at (641) 792-5262.  Sponsors will have the opportunity to be interviewed on one of the shows.  Special thanks to KCOB and the staff at GoodRadio.TV for being a great community partner and taking the lead to launch this project.
LINKS to Business Blogs & Resources
This list changes now and then but these are great resources for anyone running a business or organization, small or large, for profit or not-for-priofit.

Co-author of "The Go-Giver", one of our recommended books.  It's all about doing business with those you know, like and trust.  If you are in sales or want to understand the power of networking, this is a great blog.

If you want to be remarkable, Seth will help you get started.  We recommended his book "The Big Moo" but he has much more to say.  Great for marketing ideas too.

Facebook? Twitter?  You'll find resources, links and articles for all of the all the latest tips and trends in social media.

Why do many small businesses fail?  Michael Gerber wrote a book called the E-Myth (The Entrepreneaur Myth - Voted #1 business book by Inc. 500 CEOs.) to examine that fact, and he's been coaching hundreds ever since.
