BuildSA Brief

The BuildSA Team continues to test and assess Land Development's business processes and services to ensure the overall system works as designed. Testing is on track to complete in September, with training scheduled through late November.

The next part of BuildSA, Plan Review and Field Services Functional Group 2, kicked off last week. In the coming weeks, the project team will meet with the designated stakeholders to gather input on services they would like to see and work with.

"Meeting with those who use our systems and know our processes and procedures prior to building the new system supports our customer service and facilitation approach," said Rod Sanchez, DSD Director. "Engaging the community to help build the product beforehand ensures we are delivering a product the customers want."

In addition, the new BuildSA web site will be available next week. The web site will include resources, scheduled timelines, and training information, sharing the latest to keep you informed.

Here's what you said about us...

Daniel Hazlett, Plans Coordinator and Anne Garcia, Sr. Development Services Specialist, Plan Review
The beauty of a well working team is what goes on in the background! Thanks to Daniel Hazlett and Annie Garcia, I can always be guaranteed not only excellent customer service, but expedited and accurate answers and responses to questions. The Methodist project is not a small project. It has a lot of moving parts and with their assistance, we are able to make sure it is running smoothly through a continuous exchange of emails and communication to make sure we have all our plans and stay in compliance. Thank you team!

Richard Carrizales, Senior Planner, Land Development
Richard is very prompt in answering my questions and handling the research required for resolving my concerns. He appears to be very organized and I really appreciate that.

Robert Luna, Code Enforcement Officer, Field Services
My husband and I want you to know about all the hard work Officer Luna has been doing to correct these city code issues.  He knows his job and City Codes.  I worked long years in a customer service job and felt wonderful when someone took the time to tell my boss (and me) how they appreciated my work. You need more Codes Compliance Officers like Robert Luna.
Anna Alexander, Development Services Specialist, Plan Review
Anna was very thorough and professional. She listened to my situation and addressed all of my questions and concerns. My situation was complicated and she made the changes/corrections required to get us on track. I commend her on her work, a very pleasant young lady.

Rita Esparza, Dangerous Premises Officer, Code Enforcement, Field Services
I'd like to compliment Rita Esparza for not only being attentive to her work, but also taking into account how the cities actions will effect citizens like me. I'm 62 years old and below the federal poverty line; after attempts to save a building on my property failed, it was determined the building would need to be demolished. Rita has gone out of her way to not only do her job, but do it in a way that won't be excessively burdensome for me!

Juanita Romero, Planner, Land Development
Please thank Juanita for reviewing our plat SO quickly, summarizing the items that needed to be completed to record the plat (which was perfect), and then working with us to get the plat recorded today! We really appreciate her help so much! She did a great job.
