Thank you! From Mrs. Carter
Dear Parents,
Thank you to all the families who have worked really hard to get their students to school on time this year. As you know, we have started closing our car rider doors at 8:45 AM when the first bell rings. Students must be in their seat ready to begin learning at 8:50 AM when the second bell rings. When students are walking in the door at 8:50 AM, they are considered tardy. We have implemented this change because students who arrive late at car riders impact my staff's ability to be in their rooms ready to work with students. If I expect my teachers and support staff members to be ready to begin instruction when the second bell rings, then they need time to get from the side of the building where car riders unload to their classrooms so that they are ready to begin work. I would hope that you would expect me to hold teachers and support staff members accountable to be on time and prepared to teach students. Therefore, we need you to have your students at school on time and prepared to learn. At the latest, students should be walking in the building at 8:45 so that they are in their classrooms ready to learn by the time the second bell rings at 8:50. In addition, as a reminder, the last check out is at 2:50 PM. This is in place for the safety of parents and students as buses are beginning to arrive and there is much movement in the front drive. Thank you for your continuous support and understanding as we work together to make Brookwood ES a safe place to learn.

PTA Boosterthon Fun Run
Kick Off / Pep Rally
Monday, March 23
We kick off the PTA Boosterthon on Monday! Students will have a pep rally and bring home more information about making pledges. The goal of the Boosterthon Fun Run is to raise funds while teaching our kids the importance of Fitness, Leadership, and Character. We are raising funds for technology, instructional materials, and for enhancements to the media center to support technology use. Students will be learning five ways to make their community rock with Boosterthon's character theme "Rock'n Town Live," a music festival theme all about community. We will wrap up with the Fun Run on Wednesday, April 1st. Your family is invited to come and cheer for your student!

Original Works Fundraiser

Attention Families! - Coming Home Friday, March 20th in Friday Folders! - Be on the lookout for some fabulous artwork from some very talented artists...your kids! Our Original Works fundraiser gets underway today. What do you need to do?

    1. First, be blown away by the amazing work that your child has created when you see it arrive home on March 20th!
    2. Second, pour over the color brochure and make a list of all of the wonderful products that you want to order with your child's artwork, (Don't forget Mother's Day, Father's Day, grandparents, end of the year teacher gifts, etc.).
    3. Third, send your order form, payment check, and artwork back into school between March 23 and March 27, and finally, wait for all the fun stuff to arrive in late April!

The proceeds from this fundraiser go to fund the art supplies for all students at Brookwood Elementary.
