The King of Pops was in the House!
If you've never had the pleasure of biting into a fresh "King of Pops" Popsicle, just ask Mrs. Sammons' and Mrs. Moon's students what you're missing! These students were able to enjoy these tasty homemade treats from The King of Pops himself, Steven Carse, who visited the entrepreneurial students on February 3rd. He spoke to the students about how he began his popsicle business after he became laid off from his job. His story was truly inspiring to the students who left his presentation with the reminder to: "Dream Big! You Can Accomplish Anything!"

Dreaming big is something these students have been doing in their entrepreneurship experiences since they stepped into their classrooms in August. Filling out job applications when they see a need in their classroom and/or school and setting up appointments to go on job interviews are a part of these students' daily routines. Students perform daily jobs that range from helping the Assistant Principal with clerical work, to sorting and labeling lost and found items from the playground, to helping Kindergarten students learn their letters. At the end of each week students earn a "salary" depending on their job performance.

Mrs. Barbara Bender, President of the Snellville Entrepreneur Council and Snellville City Councilwoman, sponsored the cost of the popsicles.
