"Zuzy" will be at Zaxby's from 5:00-8:00 pm. The winning class will get a "fingers & cookies" class party. Teachers that attend will get a free "Zalad" on their next visit.  
Teacher Tailored School 
Supply Program

The Brookwood Elementary new Teacher Tailored school supply program is up and running! You can go to www.shopttkits.com and enter school code 32127. Choose the appropriate grade level and gender then follow instructions! It is that simple. The kits will be delivered to the school by July 31st to be ready for Meet the Teacher Day! If you prefer paper ordering, the forms will come home today in your child's Friday folder. All orders are due by May 16th.

Witzzle Pro Club News!


Good luck to Rehal Bollavaram (5th grade) and Rida Merani (4th grade) who will represent Brookwood Elementary at the Gwinnett County Witzzle Pro Tournament hosted by Minor Elementary. They are looking forward to the competition which will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 9:00 - 11:30. We are so proud of them and all of the students in the Witzzle Pro Club who have been meeting on Tuesday and Friday mornings to practice and play Witzzle Pro! Thank you to Mrs. Mackellar for leading Witzzle Pro Club for the past 7 years! This week was her last official club meeting before retirement. We are going to miss you Mrs. Mackellar!

Registering to vote is an important first step in becoming an active citizen in our state and country. There is another innovation offered from the Office of the Secretary of State to help Georgians get registered to vote. Using the new Online Voter Registration System (OLVR), anyone with a valid Georgia driver's license can register to vote online at https://registertovote.sos.ga.gov/GAOLVR/beginRegistration.do.

Students can use this system at the age of 17 1/2 years. Georgians can also use the new My Voter Page mobile app for their phone or tablet. It will give you individualized sample ballots, lists of elected officials, the ability to track your absentee ballot and much more. Simple search for "GA Votes" on the Android or Apple app stores and downloads the app for free.

Education City

educcityThis is an online software program (www.educationcity.com) that targets Georgia learning standards in the areas of Math, Language Arts, and Science. Students work on creative activities that teach them needed academic strands at the same time. The children love this software! Home licenses usually cost around $75 for a year but through Brookwood Elementary you can purchase a home license for $10 for one child plus $5 for each additional child in the same family. Free Math Tutorial Access

  1. Go to the Gwinnett Online Campus Website: www.gwinnettonlinecampus.com
  2. Click "LOGINS" in the upper right corner.
  3. Username: brookwoodesmath
  4. Password: brookwoodesmath
  5. Select desired tutorial.
  6. For grade 4, click the "Content" tab in the upper left corner of the screen to begin the tutorial.  For all other grades, you wil be prompted to "click here" to begin the tutorial.
