Boosterthon Fun Run
Our Students Had A Terrific Time!
The PTA would like to thank all of our families that pledged students, volunteered, and/or came out to cheer our children on for the Boosterthon Fun Run. It has been a fun couple of weeks with the Boosterthon team at our school.  The children had a terrific time at the Fun Run on Thursday. The students really enjoyed running around the race track with their friends. Thank you for the support you have shown with pledges so far! Remember, it is not too late to continue to get pledges as you start to collect funds. All pledge money is due Wed, March 26. We appreciate all of your support!

Stampede Against Hunger

The Brookwood Cluster - 2nd Annual Stamped Against Hunger food drive will take place Monday, March 24th - Friday, March 28th. It is an organized community food drive to benefit the food bank at the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry. All four elementary schools are participating. Here are the details:

Items to donate: Peanut Butter and Jelly

Where: Collection Boxes located at your school

When: Week of March 24th-28th

Who: Benefits the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry Food Bank

All Week, have your child bring in jars of peanut butter and jelly TO THEIR CLASSROOM to be counted by their teacher. Classes will compete to bring in the most jars of peanut butter and jelly. The top donating class from each school will earn a pizza party and will get to be in a video shown on the morning announcements at their school. The winning classes will be announced on Monday, March 31st.

There are needy families right here in our own Brookwood Community. Last year, we brought in 1,100 jars. Let's all join together and see if we can beat that number in the 2014 Stampede Against Hunger!

The Soul Project

The Soul Project - Brookwood Elementary is collecting used or new shoes again for The Soul Project. Their belief is that every person deserves to have a decent pair of shoes on their feet.  Since 2007, The Soul Project has been providing free shoes to children and adults.  Shoes help to prevent the spread of parasitic diseases that plague over 300 Million people around the world. Brookwood Elementary will have bins at the front entrance to collect shoes March 17 - April 4. www.soulprojectint.org
