Boosterthon Fun Run

Our students have enjoyed "Camp High Five" this week brought to us by the Boosterthon team. The children have learned character lessons on friendship. As the lessons are coming to an end, the students are looking forward to the Fun Run this Thursday, March 20th. The goal of the Boosterthon Fun Run is to raise funds while teaching our kids about the importance of Fitness, Leadership, and Character. Our goal is to raise funds for an electronic sign for the school, additional technology, and other instructional materials.

Please support our school by getting pledges and coming out to cheer on the children on Thursday.

Fun Run times are:
K & 1st -  9:15 to 10:00
2nd & 3rd  - 11:00 to 12:15
4th & 5th   - 1:00 to: 2:15

"Build Character on the Go" -  get a FREE APP by searching Boosterthon on your Apple or Android. It has fun character lessons, videos, music, and books your kids will love!

For more information on the Fun Run, go to Boosterthon.com. Thank you for supporting our school!

The Soul Project

The Soul Project - Brookwood Elementary is collecting used or new shoes again for The Soul Project. Their belief is that every person deserves to have a decent pair of shoes on their feet.  Since 2007, The Soul Project has been providing free shoes to children and adults.  Shoes help to prevent the spread of parasitic diseases that plague over 300 Million people around the world. Brookwood Elementary will have bins at the front entrance to collect shoes March 17 - April 4. www.soulprojectint.org

Stampede Against Hunger

The Brookwood Cluster - 2nd Annual Stamped Against Hunger food drive will take place Monday, March 24th - Friday, March 28th. It is an organized community food drive to benefit the food bank at the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry. All four elementary schools are participating. Here are the details:

Items to donate: Peanut Butter and Jelly

Where: Collection Boxes located at your school

When: Week of March 24th-28th

Who: Benefits the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry Food Bank

All Week, have your child bring in jars of peanut butter and jelly TO THEIR CLASSROOM to be counted by their teacher. Classes will compete to bring in the most jars of peanut butter and jelly. The top donating class from each school will earn a pizza party and will get to be in a video shown on the morning announcements at their school. The winning classes will be announced on Monday, March 31st.

There are needy families right here in our own Brookwood Community. Last year, we brought in 1,100 jars. Let's all join together and see if we can beat that number in the 2014 Stampede Against Hunger!
