"Giving Cancer the Boot"

Wow! Our first annual Relay for Life "Give Cancer A Boot" fund raiser was a HUGE success! Our front hallways are covered with boots of all colors! All together, as a school, we raised $2558.75 to go toward cancer research!

The winner for Grades K-2 was First Grade! Congratulations to First Grade!

In Grades 3-5, we have a tie! The two winners are third grade and fifth grade. Congratulations to these grade levels.

All three winning grade levels will get an ice party in the cafeteria next Friday afternoon, January 24th with Mrs. Head!

Also, because every grade level did such a great job of getting donations and covering our walls with boots of all colors, all students will get an extra 30 minute recess next Tuesday or Wednesday (your teacher will choose the day) and we will have a free Hat Day next Friday, Jan. 24th! Anyone that wants can wear a hat at school that day! Some of you may also want to wear your boots, if you don't have PE that day!

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to this very worthy cause! You are helping scientists be able to do research to find cures for bad diseases!

The Relay for Life Team would like to thank all BES staff members, parent volunteers, and students who worked hard all week to make this fund raiser possible!

Students Participate - Free Throw Contest

We had 6 students participate in the free throw contest sponsored by the Elks club at Grayson Elem. They ALL did a great job representing Brookwood! Elijah Baksh and Makena Bongcaron each received 3rd place and Katie Ratcliff placed second! Congratulations Students!
