Brookwood Elementary Donates To United Way

Our teachers got really competitive when it came to the game "Penny Wars"! It was all in good fun as everything was donated to United Way. With donations directly from staff members, Hat Day, and the Student Performance opportunity, together we have donated nearly $6,000 to United Way! Thank you Brookwood Elementary Staff and Families for donating to a worthy cause.

Wittzle Pro™ Math Club

Wittzle Pro™ Math Club has returned by popular request!

Tuesday, October 29, marked the beginning of the Wittzle Pro™Math Club for 4th and 5th Graders. Meetings are on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 7:45-8:20 am. The club currently has 36 members. Parents are more than welcome to join us and play along. Meetings are in the cafeteria. Student Principal For A Day - Jack Stephens

This year one of the bid items in the Brookwood Schools Foundation Auction was the opportunity for a Student Principal for a Day. The winner for BES is 4th Grader, Jack Stephens, in Beth Obrock's class. These are Jack's Principal Rules for the day! Jack will share the rules on Good Day Brookwood on November 18.

1. No Homework on November 18

2. 10 Minutes Extra Recess for Every Class

3. No Red Cup in the Cafeteria

4. Free Hat Day

5. Free Ice Cream for One Class Per Grade Level - Drawings will be done on Good Day Brookwood.

6. Mexican Lunch for Teachers and free jeans day - WSA Celebration

7. BHS Drum Line will play for students in the afternoon

Congratulations BES Faculty Volleyball Team!

Congratulations BES Volleyball team for a great season! Brooke Ahlers, Harold Barton, Nancy Blanding, Lesley Hall, April Holland, Karen Jones, Colleen LaPerre and Nancy Swan represented us well! The team's regular season record is below.

The team made it to the playoffs as the 2nd place team in its division. Their first opponent was Summerour MS at home. They advanced to the Elite 8 by defeating Summerour MS in 2 straight sets: 25 - 17, 25 -17. Although the team's chemistry was there and they played well, they did not fare as well against Winn Holt where they lost in 2 straight sets. The school is treating them to lunch on Friday, Nov. 15th.

Georgia vs Florida Game Fans

There may only be a few, but they are mighty. These Gator fans were ready for the game this past weekend. We are so glad they still came in smiling Monday morning after losing to Georgia! It is really hard to hide school spirit at Brookwood Elementary!

Community Flyers

Brookwood High's Theater Department will present Raggedy Ann & Andy, November 14 & 16, 7:00 p.m. in the BHS Theater. Tickets will be on sale at the door. $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under.

Bronco Fans, please come out on Saturday, November 9 to cheer on the undefeated BFA 9yr old football team in the championship game against Peachtree Ridge! The 4th grade cheerleaders need everyone's help supporting the team as they attempt to win their fourth consecutive Gwinnett Football League championship!

educcity This is an online software program (www.educationcity.com) that targets Georgia learning standards in the areas of Math, Language Arts, and Science. Students work on creative activities that teach them needed academic strands at the same time. The children love this software! Home licenses usually cost around $75 for a year but through Brookwood Elementary you can purchase a home license for $10 for one child plus $5 for each additional child in the same family.
