It is not too late to get started or get more orders for our fundraiser with Charleston Wrap. Order forms and money are due on Monday, September 9th.  All orders turned into the school will be shipped to the school for pick up around the middle of October. Remember online orders over $75 have free shipping to your home.  Friends and family will also be able to continue to make purchases online at www.charlestonwrap.com to benefit Brookwood after Sept 9th. Thank you for supporting our PTA.

Cheryl was truly honored to have been chosen among her peers to be Teacher Of The Year! This is her 24th year of teaching. She started in Dekalb County and has been in Gwinnett County 20 years. This is her 13th year at BES. She taught grades K-3, but most of her experience is in first and second grade here at BES. Cheryl received her Bachelor's Degree from UGA and her Master's Degree from Walden University.  

Cheryl's husband is a Major with the DeKalb Police Department. He is the commander of Tucker Precinct.

Her daughter, Melissa, is a Junior at UGA studying pre-pharmacy and her son, Bryson, is a Senior at Brookwood High School. 

It's Book Fair Time!

Brookwood High School "Gold Out"

 

Many of you are familiar with the story of Amanda Riley & the Amanda Riley Foundation. Quick summary: Amanda was a student athlete at Brookwood High School that lost a courageous battle with Childhood Cancer that deeply touched the Brookwood Community. Her parents started a Foundation to raise awareness of and research funds for Childhood Cancer.

 

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

 

*The Brookwood High School Home Game on Friday, Sept. 27th is a "Gold Out" Game! Brookwood HS vs Parkview HS!

educcityThis is an online software program (www.educationcity.com) that targets Georgia learning standards in the areas of Math, Language Arts, and Science. Students work on creative activities that teach them needed academic strands at the same time. The children love this software! Home licenses usually cost around $75 for a year but through Brookwood Elementary you can purchase a home license for $10 for one child plus $5 for each additional child in the same family.   1. Go to the Gwinnett Online Campus Website: www.gwinnettonlinecampus.com
  2. Click "LOGINS" in the upper right corner.
  3. Username: brookwoodesmath
  4. Password: brookwoodesmath
  5. Select desired tutorial.
  6. For grade 4, click the "Content" tab in the upper left corner of the screen to begin the tutorial.  For all other grades, you wil be prompted to "click here" to begin the tutorial.
