Message from Principal, Karen Head

Dear Parents,

We have had a great year at Brookwood Elementary! Thank you so much for all of your support through volunteering, fundraising, attending conferences, and working with your children! We recently received our Grade 5 Writing Test results and 98% of our students passed with 50% of them scoring in Exceeds.

We also received our first ever College and Career Readiness Index (CCRPI) Score from the State. This takes the place of our former Adequate Yearly Progress Accountability System (AYP). Our CCRPI Score was 99.3 which is great! We are very proud of our teachers, students, and community! Your support of us and your child's education makes a huge difference!

Our CRCT results for Grades 3-5 just arrived. Our students did great! 99% of our students passed all required parts of the CRCT.   57 - 86% of our students scored in the Exceeds range on the different parts of the assessments. We are very proud! We did not receive the individual score reports yet to send home. However, you can see your child's CRCT scores in the Parent Portal soon.

I look forward to seeing you back at Meet Your Teacher Day on Monday, August 5. This is the first year we have not done this on a Thursday, so mark your calendars now. It will be here before we know it.

I am already busy with plans for next year and I am excited about the great things our students and teachers will accomplish!

I hope you all have a great summer with your families! I am planning on lots of time with my five grandsons!

Thank you so much for sharing your children with us! Thank you also for being so supportive of us!

Sincerely,

Karen Head

Students work on creative activities that teach them needed academic strands at the same time. The children love this software!
