Fitnessgram Parent Letter  

To ALL fourth and fifth grade parents. You may have noticed an email from Barb Heck (PE teacher)/gwinnett county about Fitness Test scores. This letter explains the test. Please check your junk mail if you do not see an email from Gwinnett County in your regular inbox. Please let me know if you do not receive this AND have an e-mail on file here at BES. If you don't have an e-mail , you will be getting a printed copy with your child's report card.

Just Skills will hold a Summer Day Camp program which will start in June at both Bogan and Lenora Park Gyms.  We have attached a Gwinnett County approved file in pdf format hoping that you will make this available to parents We are associated with Gwinnett County Department of Parks and Recreation and have held basketball camps and training consistently at these two locations for 8 years. We have several 5-day Camp offerings from 9 am-4 pm.
The camp is open for children ages 7-16. For a full schedule and registration, you may visit: www.JustSkillsofAtlanta.com. We combine basketball skills with life skills. Our training takes place at both Lenora Gym in Lenora Park, Snellville and Bogan Gym in Bogan Park, Buford GA. Many parents whose child has attended one or more of our programs have felt that their child has gain more confidence and sense of achievement both in basketball and life skills in a fun environment.

PTA  - TrueBlueSchools Program
trueblueThe PTA is excited about a program we would like to share with you!  It's called the TrueBlueSchools program.  Georgia Natural Gas will donate $5 a month (from their funds) to our school if you link your existing or new account to Brookwood Elementary.  Residential and commercial accounts are included.  If we have just 100 accounts linked to Brookwood, we can raise $6,000 in a year.  Go to TrueBlueSchools.comor call 1-866-ONLYGNG for more information and to link your account.  The steps are quick and easy to link your account or switch providers to GNG.  They will also give you a discount per therm if you use promocode: TrueBlue.  Thank you for supporting Brookwood!!  (See attached flyer) switch n save pdf

Education City

educcityThis is an online software program (www.educationcity.com) that targets Georgia learning standards in the areas of Math, Language Arts, and Science. Students work on creative activities that teach them needed academic strands at the same time. The children love this software! Home licenses usually cost around $75 for a year but through Brookwood Elementary you can purchase a home license for $10 for one child plus $5 for each additional child in the same family. Free Math Tutorial Access

  1. Go to the Gwinnett Online Campus Website: www.gwinnettonlinecampus.com
  2. Click "LOGINS" in the upper right corner.
  3. Username: brookwoodesmath
  4. Password: brookwoodesmath
  5. Select desired tutorial.
  6. For grade 4, click the "Content" tab in the upper left corner of the screen to begin the tutorial.  For all other grades, you wil be prompted to "click here" to begin the tutorial.
