Congratulations Clogging Connection @ City Center Dance School in Snellville! CCD's "Force" Team attended the Clogging Champions of America's "Showdown of Champions" in Knoxville, TN on January 25, 2013. CCD Force Team, including BES 5th Grader Kylie Zimmerman (pictured above), captured the National Champion Artistic Expression title with their "Rah!" dance. CCD Force Team also includes former BES Students: Jessica Brottem, Caroline McKeon, Caroline Markey, Katherine Markey, Gwen Nace, and Abby Peters.Congratulations Girls!

PTA  - TrueBlueSchoos Program
trueblueThe PTA is excited about a program we would like to share with you!  It's called the TrueBlueSchools program.  Georgia Natural Gas will donate $5 a month (from their funds) to our school if you link your existing or new account to Brookwood Elementary.  Residential and commercial accounts are included.  If we have just 100 accounts linked to Brookwood, we can raise $6,000 in a year.  Go to TrueBlueSchools.comor call 1-866-ONLYGNG for more information and to link your account.  The steps are quick and easy to link your account or switch providers to GNG.  They will also give you a discount per therm if you use promocode: TrueBlue.  Thank you for supporting Brookwood!!  (See attached flyer) switch n save pdf

rtrYoung Life and Gwinnett Community Clinic invite you out to "Gwinnett County's Greatest Race Event."  Run the Reagan 2013, will be held Saturday, February 16th 2013 at 9:00. This event features a Half-Marathon, 10K, 5K Fun Run/Walk and One Mile Fun Run! Parents, students and teachers may register for the BES team to benefit your local school. Brookwood Elementary will get $5 back from each registration.The school with the largest number of participants will win a $500 gift card from Academy Sports. Please visit runthereagan.net for more information and to register to run.

Book Fair workers get a 10% discount for their family purchases!

 

 

 

Set-up: Tuesday, February 12th AM only  (requires lifting/bending)
 
Preview Dates:  Wednesday, Feb 13th AM or PM, Thursday, Feb 14th AM or PM
 
Purchase Dates:  Tuesday, Feb 19th AM or PM, Wednesday, Feb 20th AM or PM, Thursday, Feb 21st AM or PM, Friday, Feb 22nd AM only.  

Pack-Up: Friday, Feb 22nd PM only (requires lifting/bending) 

Volunteer shift times available daily from 9:00-noon (AM) and 12:30-3:00 (PM).

 

We're looking for volunteers to help the children find the books on their lists which parents have approved, and to help them not exceed their $ max.  It is wonderful to see all the books available to the children at our school, and to get a close-up peek at the books your child selected for their wish list.

educcityThis is an online software program (www.educationcity.com) that targets Georgia learning standards in the areas of Math, Language Arts, and Science. Students work on creative activities that teach them needed academic strands at the same time. The children love this software! Home licenses usually cost around $75 for a year but through Brookwood Elementary you can purchase a home license for $10 for one child plus $5 for each additional child in the same family.   1. Go to the Gwinnett Online Campus Website: www.gwinnettonlinecampus.com
  2. Click "LOGINS" in the upper right corner.
  3. Username: brookwoodesmath
  4. Password: brookwoodesmath
  5. Select desired tutorial.
  6. For grade 4, click the "Content" tab in the upper left corner of the screen to begin the tutorial.  For all other grades, you wil be prompted to "click here" to begin the tutorial.
