BES/Community Coat Drive
Nov. 12-16

Burrrrr....... It's getting cold outside!

We are having a BES Coat Drive to benefit those in need of a warm winter coat at Brookwood Elementary and in our       community. We will accept new and gently used, clean coats-infant through adult sizes. There will be collection boxes in the front hall of the school. Thank you for your endless support!

Book Sale
Nov. 12 - 15
We are having our Relay For Life Book Sale Nov. 12-15th. rfl 2
This year we are asking students to bring $1 (only $1) to buy one book due to the low numbers of books donated. They will be allowed to purchase at their assigned day and time. Parents can shop on the last day and purchase as many books as we have left on Thursday, Nov. 15 between 12-3:00 pm.
Student shopping days are as follows:

Thank you PTA Cultural Arts! Grades K-2 enjoyed a wonderful visit last Friday morning with author and illustrator Michelle Nelson-Schmidt. She delighted them with stories of how she got started in her career and she shared a lot of her original artwork with the children.

BFA Plays In The Gwinnett Football League Championship Game - Nov. 10

You are invited to come out on Saturday to cheer on the 8yr old BFA football team in the Gwinnett Football League championship game. This is the third consecutive year this team has played in the championship game. As the two time defending champions, they would love to have the stands full of Bronco fans. Wear your Brookwood spirit-wear and join the 3rd grade cheerleaders in cheering the team to victory!  The game is on Saturday, November 10 at Collins Hill High School - 11:00 am.  Admission is $1 for school age children, $3 for adults, free for seniors and children 5 and under.

Red Ribbon Week Was A Success!

Wow! Red Ribbon week was a great success. The week ended with the students creating a red chain called "Chain Up Drugs" symbolizing their commitment to saying NO to drugs.

educcityThis is an online software program (www.educationcity.com) that targets Georgia learning standards in the areas of Math, Language Arts, and Science. Students work on creative activities that teach them needed academic strands at the same time. The children love this software! Home licenses usually cost around $75 for a year but through Brookwood Elementary you can purchase a home license for $10 for one child plus $5 for each additional child in the same family. Free Math Tutorial Access

  1. Go to the Gwinnett Online Campus Website: www.gwinnettonlinecampus.com
  2. Click "LOGINS" in the upper right corner.
  3. Username: brookwoodesmath
  4. Password: brookwoodesmath
  5. Select desired tutorial.
  6. For grade 4, click the "Content" tab in the upper left corner of the screen to begin the tutorial.  For all other grades, you wil be prompted to "click here" to begin the tutorial.
