WELCOME

Welcome,  To awakening in understanding of who you are beyond the constraints of ideas and habits and to knowing the space of all and none and living as it.

MOMENTS OF EXISTENCE

moments of existence All moments are nothing more than an expression of Self.  Yet the understanding of these moments of experience are distorted by our beliefs, which keep us restricted and constricted in realizing this fully.  What the heck does that mean?  Whatever experience shows up in our lives, we have a belief around it, which limits our realization of the fullness of the moment.  From the smallest belief to the most fundamental belief that we hold about our life, our relationships and our situations.

For example, if one was raised by abusive parents (one or both), typically one holds the picture of this abuse in one's body-mind, plus another image of the wish of how it should have been.  Everyday living is an attempt to live fully, and using the above example, one finds deep in the subconscious old ideas lurking and reinforcing the ideas that arose out the abuse, such as, 'something must have been wrong with me for this to have happened' or 'I am completely unworthy of being loved.'  These deep, subconscious murmurs underpin and are continually fueling the ongoing everyday thoughts which then present through emotions such as anger, sorrow, guilt, shame, embarrassment, etc.  They manifest in everyday life as the driving force behind negative reactions -- alcohol / drug abuse, abusing others, working too hard, living a stressful life, depression, etc.  They can also demonstrate quietly through the subtle realms of the outward appearance of 'life is good' but inwardly feeling like 'something is lacking'.

All these beliefs are held energetically and replay to the old patterns (habits) through the body-mind and are difficult to realize and see because they are very faint and tenuously fed by old, buried deep subconscious beliefs.

Then the question becomes, "How do I change this?"  Many factors affect our ability to look at the situation realistically and overcome the many years of conditioning behind the situation.  The general tendency of the individual, is to sweep an issue under the rug or hide it in some corner, never to be dealt with again, with the assumption that it will magically disappear.  This is not the case, because in the mind, even though a person may attempt to bring about changes -- the issues are still there and being fed subtly by the subconscious and undermining those desired changes.

Have the compassion within yourself to want to look at your own beliefs and the circumstances that have been created.  See the truth of the moment -- perhaps there was fear or embarrassment, and know that you had an experience of that moment.  An experience is an experience and does not have to be bound by judgement.  It does not have to change in any way, nor does it need any kind of fixing.  It is only our assumption that these experiences are somehow lacking or wrong.

Know there are moments that can be dealt with on our own and know there are times when we need assistance to have clarity about our own situation.  This is the truth about the spirit of our Being and opens the doors to freedom.

If you have any questions, need clarification, or if you have anything you would like to share, please communicate through the various medias offered by Divine Echo -- email, Facebook, or by phone.

HIDING

Hiding There are many changes taking place through my life at this time; many of them being orchestrated by letting go of my old habits.  Habits that have played through my life and it is now the time for them to no longer to be an affect in my life.  For instance, I am very capable in many areas of life and one of them is building -- making things.  I am not only talking artistic projects, but include actual home construction and in many cases, I am able to do a better job than many professionals.  This has always been a love in my life and also a default system.  This means, my zest to build things is a great place to hide from various issues that I don't want to deal with.  I find it is easier to do projects myself than pay someone else for a job that might not be up to my standards and even worse, that I might have to fix!  I resist letting it go.  We all face these kinds of resistances day to day, using any activity to avoid the real issues behind them.

For me, the time has come to let go of these safety nets that hold me in those kinds of limitations.  This does not mean that I will never do these activities again, but instead, will experience moments as they appear.  There is a song in "Fiddler on the Roof" called "Tradition" where Tevye sings about the set roles of each member in his family -- the papa, the mama, the son and the daughter; and how they are held by tradition -- so that everyone knows and plays out their role in life.  In my own life I see how these habits keep disintegrating; thus opening to wider spaces of freedom that are not bound by the restrictions of my mind.

DIVINE MORSEL - THE SUN AND THE CAVE

Divine Morsel - Seeing things as you are To illustrate his oft-repeated axiom, "You see things as you are, not as they are,"

the Master would tell of an eighty-one-year-old friend who came to the monastery all wet and muddy.

"It's that creek a mile away from here," he said.  "I used to be able to jump right across it in the old days.  But, nowadays I always land in the middle.  I just hadn't noticed that the creek has been getting wider."

To which the Master himself added, "Nowadays I realize, each time I bend, that the ground is further away than it used to be when I was young,"
