No Ego!
That I feed the hungry,
forgive an insult , and love my enemy--
these are great virtues.
But if I should discover
that the poorest of the the beggars
and most impudent of offenders
are all within me,
and that I stand in need
of the alms of my own kindness;
that I myself am the enemy
who must be loved--
what then?

~C.G. Jung
Divine Echo - Warning - No Ego

Where is this ego to be found?

Lila at Play - Echos Voice Blog  (*creation, seen as the playful activity of a god)

Ah, the cruel blow of the shredding of my own importance in the world manifest. Is any drop in the ocean more important than any other drop? If one drop in the ocean were removed would the ocean notice? Does the ocean ever focus on one drop? Does the ocean give more credence to one drop over another?

Oh, the waves of slaughter upon the "I" bearing witness to poor me! Such is the drama playing out -- over and over.

Excusesredemption - Excuses - Divine Morsel
~The Monk Theophane

"Why not? That was the first thing he said. He had never seen me before. I hadn't said a word. "Why not? I knew he had me.

I brought up excuses: "My wife... the people I have to work with ... not enough time... I guess it's my temperament..."

There was a sword hanging on the wall. He took it and gave it to me. "Here, with this sword, you can cut through any barriers." I took it and slipped away without saying a word.
