No EPSON printer likes being neglected when you've been on your Summer vacation.
Flushing your printer with PiezoFlush will remove the pigment that has fallen out of suspension, and freshen up the print heads.
All pigment inks settle. EPSON recommends you discard their inks after six months of use. But, we believe that you can use them for up to two years provided you keep them agitated and you flush your printer of any settled ink, or that you flush it prior to letting the printer sit for more than three weeks.
ConeColor and Piezography inks will also settle - any brand of pigment ink will settle. Pigment settles! Unfortunately for your printer, allowing it to rest inside of large format printers with their long tubing and dampers can cause a number of problems such as banding, permanent head clogs, permanent jet clogs, color shifting, and density loss.
 Three weeks is too long to allow most EPSON pigment printers to sit unused. You will know from past experience! The value of using PiezoFlush to prepare your printer for a long needed rest (yours not its) is that it will allow you to come back and not have to deal with a clogged printer.
PiezoFlush is filled into large format carts and the printer is either POWER CLEANED (pre X890/X900) or an INK CHARGE is performed. This brings PiezoFlush right to and through the print heads. Then shut it off. Small format printers need only one head cleaning because the cartridges are attached directly to the print heads. If you need specific help you can refer to the instructions!
Reverse the process when you reinstall the ink cartridges and print without all the hassles.
