We have posted an enhanced Annual Report on the website--enhanced because it includes some committee reports that were not available for the Annual Meeting on 1/30.

You are invited to take a few minutes to read about the wonderful things our parish has accomplished and the opportunities made available for spiritual growth. You may download it here to learn even more about how Saint Peter's serves its members and the communities of West Essex.

Men's Night, March 4

italian-feast.jpg

Alan Pulitano & Vince Corso have coordinated an evening of Italian food for tonight! If you are able to come, you are still welcome to join them. Please e-mail Vince so they know to expect you or just come to the Undercroft at 6:30!

Lenten Opportunities

Lent

The following programs are continuing this week:

Embracing Forgiveness, a Lenten offering for adult formation, will meet Sundays at 11:30am in the Undercroft: March 6 & 13. You may attend any or all of the sessions. Throughout Lent we will engage in a discussion of what forgiveness is and what it is not--on both a personal and a communal level.

A lunch discussion of Blessed Is She: Living Lent with Mary. Bring your lunch, and we will read and discuss a chapter each week. Tuesdays at 12 noon, through March 15, in the Parish House conference room. Please speak with one of the clergy if you would like to join us.

For a full list of Lenten Offerings at Saint Peter's this season, please visit the News & Media page of our web site, where you will also find our new Parish Calendar!

Sunday School

There will be regular Sunday School this week with our wonderful teachers, Serena Watkinson, Kathy Vacca and Mary Beth Weber!

Happy Easter!
Easter Baskets for Children in Need

easter-basket-scene.jpg
We will once again be providing Easter Baskets for children in need from the Therapeutic Nursery in East Orange. We have an ambitious goal of 35 Easter Baskets this year!

Any basket is appreciated, either homemade or store bought. Baskets should be for children between the ages of 3-7 years old. The due date for all baskets will be Sunday, March 20th (Palm Sunday) but please feel free to bring one in before that date to the office or to Christine DiGiovanni's home at 35 Inwood Road in Essex Fells.

Baskets that have toys or art supplies and just a little bit of candy are most appreciated!

If you have any questions, please call me at 973-618-9345 or feel free to email me

Thank you in advance for your help!
Christine DiGiovanni

Summer at Saint Peter's

It's not too early to mark your calendar!

This year the Saint Peter's Street Fair will take place on Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11.

Saint Peter's Vacation Bible School will be held August 1-5, more details to follow!

Coffee Hours Hosts Needed

Hosts are need for Coffee hour directly following the 10am services on Sundays! While you may get as extravagant as you want, we really are only asking people to provide light finger food snacks--things such as a cheese and cracker tray, fruit or veggie platters and something sweet for the kids to snack on and drink. The purpose of coffee hour is for a brief social get together, not for lunch.

Please contact me by e-mail or at 973-618-9345 to let me know what Sunday you would like to sign up for.

Thank you!
Christine DiGiovanni

Angel Food

Our cupboards are (almost!) bare. We like to keep a supply of ready-made meals for our Health & Healing "Angels" to deliver to members of our parish family to show support and concern of the Saint Peter's community.

If you are able to share a quart or more of your home-made soup, chili, or dessert, please contact Serena Watkinson to find out more.

And thank you!
ShopRite Cards Available

Want to Chat, Meet our Interim Rector?

Please know that I am available and eager to meet with you. I am in the office during the day mid-week and often here for evening meetings as well. To support each of you in your ministry here at Saint Peter's and in the world around us, I need to know what you need from me.

There are several ways to schedule our meeting. You may link here to Doodle, but if the times listed there are not convenient, please reach out directly via phone (201-390-8270) or e-mail to suggest a few times we might meet. I look forward to hearing from you.

Please Help Our Local Food Pantry

Saint Peter's is proud to continue our relationship with the Caldwell Food Pantry. Parishioners are welcome to help our neighbors by bringing items to church that we will deliver on your behalf. Please leave items in the baskets at the back of the church and chapel.

Each month they focus on particular items, and for March, peanut butter and jelly are particularly welcome. Personal needs items such as toothpaste, deodorant, mouthwash, soap, toilet paper, and paper towels are always appreciated.

Please remember that you can drop off items at the food pantry anytime, Monday through Friday from 9 AM - 4:30 PM, by leaving the food on the cart in the lobby of the food pantry. It is located at 14 Park Avenue, next to the Caldwell Post Office.

Thank you for your generosity!
