An Overview of Planned Giving
and How To Get Started
will be presented by David Farrand,
Sunday, January 31, at 9am
in the Upper Room
Come hear about how you can help build a sustainable future for St. Peter's Church!
David Farrand retired as a managing director at Morgan Stanley & Co. in 1993. His volunteer work has included serving as executive director for Planned Giving at the Episcopal Diocese of Newark and as a field representative in Philanthropic Services for the Episcopal Church Foundation. He is currently chair of the Diocese of Newark's Fund Development Committee. In 2013, he became a member of the Presiding Bishop's Development Advisory Council.
A member of Calvary Church in Summit, David has served on the vestry and as founding chair of the Heritage Funds Committee. He sat on the board of St. Philip's Academy in Newark, New Jersey, from 1998-2008, and was board president from 2002-2008. He currently serves as a trustee for and chair of the Investment Committee of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Foundation. He graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with a B.A. in Accounting. Mr. Farrand will also preach at 8 and 10am that morning.

Men's Night, Friday, February 5

Get Your Goulash On! Friday, February 5 at 6:30 PM in the Undercroft
What better time for fun and fellowship before you don your sackcloth, roll in ashes, and kneel on uncooked rice for Lent! John Pivarnik will provide his famous Hungarian goulash, nicely seasoned with the highly-sought-after 'SZEGED' Hungarian paprika. The goulash is more or less all inclusive. Some sides of artisan breads would be useful. I'll also provide some hot stuffed cherry pepper appetizers for those of you who like it really hot!
Any other appetizers and/or desserts are welcome. This is BYOB, so suit yourself and perhaps bring some of your favorite brews to share. This is a learning experience as well as a community builder.

Pancake Supper, Tuesday, February 9

Pancake Supper, February 9
Our annual Pancake Supper will be held on Shrove Tuesday, February 9. This event, also celebrated as Mardi Gras, marks our celebration before the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday, February 10.
Please join us to support our Saint Peter's Youth as they raise funds for their Mission Trip to Virginia Beach this summer. Details to folow!

Coffee Hours Hosts Needed
|
Hosts are need for Coffee hour directly following the 10 AM services on Sundays! While you may get as extravagant as you want, we really are only asking people to provide light finger food snacks--things such as a cheese and cracker tray, fruit or veggie platters and something sweet for the kids to snack on and drink. The purpose of coffee hour is for a brief social get together, not for lunch.
Please contact me by e-mail or at 973-618-9345 to let me know what Sunday you would like to sign up for! Thank you! Christine DiGiovanni

Angel Food
|
Our cupboards are (almost!) bare. We like to keep a supply of ready-made meals for our Health & Healing "Angels" to deliver to members of our parish family to show support and concern of the Saint Peter's community. If you are able to share a quart or more of your home-made soup, chili, or dessert, please contact Serena Watkinson to find out more. And thank you!

Please Help Our Local Food Pantry
| |
Saint Peter's is proud to continue our relationship with the Caldwell Food Pantry. Parishioners are welcome to help our neighbors by bringing items to church that we will deliver on your behalf. Please leave items in the baskets at the back of the church and chapel.
Each month they focus on particular items, and for January, pasta and sauce are particularly welcome. Personal needs items such as toothpaste, deodorant, mouthwash, soap, toilet paper, and paper towels are always appreciated.
Please remember that you can drop off items at the food pantry anytime, Monday through Friday from 9 AM - 4:30 PM, by leaving the food on the cart in the lobby of the food pantry. It is located at 14 Park Avenue, next to the Caldwell Post Office.
Thank you for your generosity!
