December 2013
Happy New Year from the Spokane Area Workforce Development Council
Thank you

As 2013 comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the year and say thank you to our friends and supporters. Together we have accomplished a great deal.

This year brought the WDC's new nonprofit status. We are eager to utilize our nonprofit status to diversify our funding base and find new ways to strengthen services for our community. Additionally, our partnership with Community Colleges of Spokane continues to evolve as we find new ways to work together and expand access to education and training in the region.

We have worked with a variety of partners throughout the year to improve our services to youth, to re-engage laid off workers and to provide businesses the skilled employees they need to be successful. A large thank you goes to our board of directors whose contributions cannot be overstated. Representing business, education, labor, government, and community-based organizations, they are the guiding force behind our work.

The economy continued to improve in 2013, and it looks as though 2014 will be even stronger. We will be doing our part to ensure everyone can join in the prosperity and look forward to working with all of you as we strive toward that goal.

Wishing you health and happiness this holiday season and a joyous New Year!

Sincerely,
