Final holiday of the school year!

All Ector County ISD schools and offices will be closed on Monday, May 30, for Memorial Day. When we return there are just three days left in the school year (except for our staff & students at Gale Pond Alamo year-round elementary!) Have a safe and relaxing holiday!

Read this summer

If you have a student going into Pre-AP English in 7th, 8th, 9th, or 10th grade don't forget about the REQUIRED SUMMER READING. The books for each grade are listed on our Ector County ISD webpage under Site Shortcuts on the bottom right side of the page. Here is the link (called Pre-AP Summer Reading).

As an option, these books are available at Barnes & Noble, and this weekend - from Thursday through Sunday - B & N is holding a bookfair giving our Education Foundation a percentage of sales of books and café purchases. Here is the link to the Barnes & Noble flier that you will need to take with you in order for the Education Foundation to receive the donation.
Graduation plans

Graduation ceremonies for our three high schools are scheduled as follows:

George H.W. Bush New Tech Odessa - Friday, June 3, at 2:00 p.m., Wagner Noel PAC

Permian High School - Friday, June 3, at 8:30 p.m., Ratliff Stadium

Odessa High School - Saturday, June 3, at 8:30 p.m., Ratliff Stadium

If you are wondering what happens in case there is bad weather for the ceremonies at Ratliff Stadium follow THIS LINK to see the bad weather plans.
Next year's start & end times

As you may recall, our 2016-17 school calendar is based on minutes and not days (a new state law) - so the school days are a little longer, and the school year itself is shorter than it has been in recent years. To see next year's new start and end times please see THE GRAPH on our webpage. Please note the ending time for the Pre-K morning session (11:15 a.m.) as we published it incorrectly earlier this week.
Stuck!

After a busy spring semester the kinder kids in the Jordan Elementary's Rainbow Club got to experience the fun of taping assistant principal Letisha Hermosillo to the all of the gym! You can see they did a pretty good job, too - she hung there for a count of 50! The kids loved it and Mrs. Hermosillo is a great sport!
