School's out!

There is no school for students tomorrow, Friday, March 4 - it is a work day for teachers. Then Spring Break is next week. Be safe!
Tragic loss

Our community and our school district suffered a tragic loss this week with the deaths of Gregg and Jana McDonald. They were both active in our schools as volunteers and with PTA. Crisis counselors were available at Permian High School and Nimitz Middle School Wednesday and Thursday, and they will continue to be ready if any of our staff or students need to talk to them in the coming days and weeks. Our thoughts and prayers are with the McDonald's family and friends.
Oh the places you'll go!

Wednesday was our district-wide College Day where students and staff wear the colors of their favorite college or university. Pictured is a (large) group of our STAAR Alternate Administrators who all wore their colors to a training session!

It was also Dr. Seuss's birthday, and elementary students across the district dressed up like characters from his books and read his stories.
Odessa High School leading by example

Last week Odessa High School hosted an AVID Showcase for about 50 representatives from three area school districts and several ECISD campuses. OHS is an AVID National Demonstration School and as such is asked to host one showcase like this each year. Read more on our Fb page

Teacher Job Fair

We are looking for teachers, and we are hosting a Teacher Job Fair on March 19! With a great starting salary plus incentives a starting teacher can earn more than $50,000 to go along with a good benefits package. See you at the fair!
