Chevron leads the way for engineering courses

Thursday morning students from Wilson & Young Medal of Honor Middle School and Ector County ISD administrators said a big 'thank you' to Chevron for the company's generous $150,000 donation to support the district's engineering programs. At the same time officials announced the implementation of Project Lead the Way Launch, an elementary school curriculum, at Zavala Elementary Engineering Magnet School. It will be the first elementary in the area to have the PTLW Launch program. READ MORE

 
State qualifiers
 
Among the top-notch fine arts programs that qualified for the state competition is Mariachi Broncho from Odessa HS! They will compete at the State UIL Solo & Ensemble in May.
                                                                                         
The members of the select ensemble include: Alondra Arzate, Christian Rojero, David Carrillo, Nazareth Franco (Trumpeters) Oscar Lozoya, Isabel Martinez, Michelle Falcon, Monserrath Melchor, Justin Lopez, Kevin Quintana (Violinists) Miguel Sanchez, Larissa Leyva, Juliana Acosta, Ibrahim Martinez (Rhythm Section). Congratulations!

Generations collide
 
The Class of 1960 from Odessa High School and Permian High School offered a helping hand to the future grads when it donated $2,300 to our Falcon Early College High School at UTPB. It's a neat story that you can find at THIS LINK...

When signing on your school is a good thing!
 
Here's a cool new celebration that Goliad Elementary put into effect here in February. Each month after the students take their iStation reading test, the students that score on Tier 1 will be given the chance to "sign the school". They had a blast doing it this time around! In fact, students were already asking if they could take their next test already. Those Goliad teachers & students are rockin' & rolllin'!
