OHS & PHS delayed 
On Monday evening Superintendent of Schools Tom Crowe toured the construction site at Permian High School, and Tuesday morning he announced the start of school for PHS and Odessa High School would be delayed for two weeks. The official start of school for PHS and OHS is now Tuesday, September 8. However, some students who are taking courses through Odessa College and the University of Texas of the Permian Basin may have to start next week. FIND OUT MORE HERE

All other ECISD schools will start on Monday, August 24.
Temporary phones in place at new schools
 
Finishing work continues at our three new elementary schools but they are ready for school on Monday! However, AT&T is still working to get phone and internet connectivity for all three campuses. In the meantime they have run temporary phone lines to the schools and those temporary phone numbers are:

Downing - 432-385-7548

Buice - 432-366-0867

West - 432-385-7546
 
Wilson & Young Dedication
 
Alfred Mac Wilson and Marvin Rex Young didn't know each while growing up in Odessa but they are forever connected by the newly renamed Wilson & Young Medal of Honor Middle School. The dedication ceremony Thursday night drew more than 500 people and some tears.
