Introducing Some New Team Members

 

On July 15 Superintendent of Schools Tom Crowe and executive director of athletics Todd Vesely hosted a press conference to introduce 17 newly hired leaders of the ECISD team. Five district administrators, six principals, and six head coaches made up the group, but they are not the only additions/changes to the team.

Summer Registration

Yes, we are still in the heart (or heat) of the summer but don't forget about Summer Registration beginning next week for Pre-kindergarten students, PK and kinder students at Austin Montessori, and all students at Gale Pond Alamo Year-round Magnet Elementary.  

 

The following week - July 28-31 - will be the registration dates for all other schools.

 

Check out our 2015-16 Registration Central webpage for specific dates, times, requirements, and several required forms you can print and fill out ahead of time - to save some time when you go to register.

 
Summer Reading 

 

Also, don't forget about required summer reading for students in Pre-AP English classes (7th grade, 8th grade, English I, and English II.) You can find the Summer Reading brochure and the reading lists here.

Summer Graduation

 

On Thursday, June 25, another 55 students earned the opportunity to walk the stage for high school graduation. Congratulations to these kids from Odessa High School & Permian High School on their accomplishment!

High flying workshop!

 

In May students from the Permian HS band traveled to Colorado Springs, Colorado, for a clinic and while there got the chance to work with members of the U.S. Air Force Academy Band. It was an incredible experience getting to work with professional musicians on their "turf" and especially rewarding since they have chosen to use their talents to serve in our military. They worked with our students on music that the kids performed at their PHS Spring Concert on May 26.
