Spring Break edition

We're watching the weather...again.

The National Weather Service is more freezing rain, sleet, and possibly snow for us tonight and into tomorrow morning. The District cancelled all after-school activities for today and will be watching the weather overnight.

If you wonder how we decide whether or not to delay or cancel school read THIS ARTICLE on our website.

Spring Break starts Friday for students

Spring Break begins on Friday, March 6, for our students. That day is a staff development day for all of our teachers and staff. All ECISD schools and offices will be closed Monday, March 9-Friday, March 13 for the break.

Off and running

In Ector County the start of Spring Break always means the West Texas Relays at Ratliff Stadium. Started in 1944, this is one of the longest-running (pun intended) track and field meets in Texas.

Field events begin at noon on Friday, March 6, followed by the 3200 meter run and then the running preliminaries at 3:30 p.m. On Saturday, the field events begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Opening Ceremonies at 2:15 p.m. Match sure you get to Ratliff Stadium to catch the action!
